State of the legal marketWorking closely with some of the largest law firms in the country, I have an opportunity to see legal industry trends in real-time. My passion for sharing my insights comes from my background of practicing law and clerking as a federal staff attorney. A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats: Sandra Day O’Connor—Provides a summary of the Seneca Women’s Global Leadership Forum and Tribute to Sandra Day O’Connor event held in April in Washington, DC.  The theme of the forum was how focus and attention on fostering and promoting women in all types of business results in an improvement for consumers, governments, businesses, etc.  Justice Ginsburg recounted a history of Justice O’Connor’s strong encouragement of other women in the law, push for more stringent domestic abuse laws, and creation of a civics program for middle and high school students.  The event culminated in the ultimate photo op—all four female Supreme Court justices on one stage.

Automating Draft Changes-Opportunity for the AmLaw 200 – Numerous issues are disrupting the AmLaw 200 right now, from slow adoption of technology, GC pushback on inefficiency, diverse GC demanding similarly diverse outside counsel, millennials demanding a better work-life balance, and efforts to stem the flow of female parent attorneys from leaving the practice.  Could one simple change solve many of these problems for the largest law firms?
