On Tuesday, I celebrated with Semanoff, Ormsby, Greenberg & Torchia, LLC in Huntingdon Valley, Penn. to recognize the 25,000th small law firm to sign up with WestlawNext. Several of my colleagues and I visited the firm’s office located in a charming suburb of Philadelphia to present two charitable donations on their behalf.
In attendance were Sue Stubbs, Vice President of Small Law Firms Sales; Lenny Izzo, Vice President of Small Law Firm Marketing; Pam Balthazor, Senior Director of Customer Marketing, and of course the firm’s Consultant and Manager, Katelynn Kim and Hal Wolfe.
What an event! The firm has long-standing ties with local charities, so we were pleased to donate $2500 between two of the firm’s closest non-profit organizations: Intercommunity Action and Liberty Resources. Both organizations provide services for the elderly, handicapped, and disadvantaged in the greater Philadelphia region. Truly, it was a rewarding way to cross that 25,000 mark.
“Liberty Resources is a center for independent living in the Philadelphia area,” explained Fady Sahhar, Chief Administrative Officer for Liberty Resources, Inc. “We’re proud of the relationship we’ve had with this firm, because in the past couple of years, they’ve really helped us step up our act. They’ve made us better, they’ve been a good partner to us, and they’ve seen us through some really tough days.”
“I remember the times when they were a much smaller organization” said Michael Torchia, Managing Partner and long-time supporter of Liberty Resources. “And now they’ve grown to be a really vital organization for the Philadelphia region.”
The Small Law Firm business here at Thomson Reuters works hard to recognize the contributions that small firms make in local communities. Over lunch, I learned even more about the firm’s impact on the community—both in their everyday legal service and through independent involvement. I also met a few employees who have been at the firm upwards of 15 years (out of 21 of the firm’s existence). What a testament to the value and positivity fostered there.
Congratulations to the partners, attorneys and employees at Semanoff, Ormsby, Greenberg & Torchia, LLC. We’re grateful that WestlawNext can be part of your continued success!
