Westlaw tip: Searching for famous cases

April 20, 2011

From the Westlaw Reference AttorneysWestlaw has several databases specific to famous or “notable” trials.  For example, if you type in “OJ Simpson” in Search for a Database you will see commentaries, transcripts, and other documents for the OJ Simpson Trial.

These trials are sorted by jurisdiction in the directory.  For example, the OJ Simpson materials are located in a folder marked “Notable Trials” in the California state directory folder.  There is a similarly-labeled folder at the bottom of the Miscellaneous Federal Databases folder in the Federal Materials directory.  This folder includes material from the Unabomber, Oklahoma City Bombing, and Microsoft cases.
