WESTLAW NEXT Tip of the Week: Finding Forms

September 4, 2012

Tip of the WeekWhether you’re a litigator or a transactional attorney, drafting and examining documents is likely an essential part of your job. Forms are frequently an integral component of that work. WestlawNext® provides easy access to an extensive collection of forms so you can complete your drafting work more efficiently and produce better results. You can find the form you need on WestlawNext several different ways:

Browsing to Forms
A simple way to access forms is to click the Forms link on the home page. You can browse forms by jurisdiction, topic, or publication, and then continue to click links until you reach the content you desire. At any point while browsing, you can search the selected content using the tabbed search box at the top of the page.

Advanced Search
When you browse to a Forms page and click the advanced link in the upper right corner, the content-specific Advanced Search template is displayed. The template lets you refine your search by selecting topics and limiting your results to civil, criminal, transactional, or litigation forms. You can also add search terms in the Search Terms box; or, to narrow your results even further, add search terms to the Form Title box.

Global Search
Forms are one of the 13 content sets listed in the left column after you run a global search from the home page. From the result list, click on Forms on the left, then you can use the filters to narrow further by checking the boxes next to the filters you want to apply.
