Each time you deliver documents from WestlawNext (e.g., email or download), you’ll choose from a number of available options. If you commonly make changes to these settings, you can save time by customizing the default settings to suit your specific needs.
Use the Preferences feature to change the default delivery settings. You can modify your preferences at any time. Simply click the Preferences link in the bottom left-hand corner of any page. Then click the Delivery tab.
Here you’ll choose your default settings for:
Document Format – designate the file format for documents that you email and download as either Microsoft Word®, Word Processor (RTF), WordPerfect®, or PDF.
Page Layout – check the box if you prefer cases to be delivered in dual column format.
Multiple Documents Format – allows you to deliver multiple documents as a single merged file or as multiple files within a compressed zip file.
Footnotes – set them to display inline or at the end of delivered documents.
Links – select how the links within your documents will appear including the color of links (black or blue) and whether they are underlined.
Font Size – adjust the font size from Normal to Large.
Include – check the boxes for each element you want to include (e.g., Term Highlighting or West Headnotes).
To finalize your settings, remember to click the Save button. Setting these preferences allows you to customize your delivery experience, while still providing the ability to change your settings for any given document. Going forward, your selections will appear as the default settings but can still be modified for individual deliveries.
