Would you like to pick up your legal research from exactly where you left off during a previous session? WestlawNext® provides a number of easy and efficient ways for you to quickly access your prior research.

Sign On
After you sign on to WestlawNext with your username and password, a Welcome page will display. In addition to designating the Client ID for your session, this page allows you to quickly return to the five most recent events from your research history.

To access a previously viewed document, simply click the title of the document or the document icon ( document icon ). To easily view the results of a recent search, click on the search terms or the magnifying glass icon ( magnifying glass icon ).

Recent Searches
Click on the magnifying glass icon in the search box to access your most recent searches.

This is the fastest way to retrieve a prior search and then run the search in a different jurisdiction.

History
Hover over the History link at the top of the page to display lists of the five most Recent Documents viewed and Recent Searches run. Click View All to see all of the documents you have viewed or searches you have run.

Click the History link at the top of the page to view your complete history, which includes other research activities such as KeyCite® events. Your research history on WestlawNext is automatically saved for an entire year.
