While a definitive study on general causation is not a prerequisite to the admissibility of an expert opinion, the scientific data an expert relies upon is not merely icing on the cake, but, rather, the district court must determine whether the gap between the scientific data and the opinions offered is simply too great to assist the trier of fact.
