110 Criminal LawAlthough the defendant remains ever the master of his defense while the attorney’s role is that of an assistant, the right to an attorney is not a right to a mouthpiece or marionette, but rather to competent counsel who will employ her own professional expertise in effectively representing her client’s interests.
